The Hyperhidrosis Center, located at North Shore University Hospital, utilizes the most sophisticated medical and surgical techniques for the treatment of hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating. Severe hyperhidrosis can lead to significant impairment of physical and emotional well-being, and can be refractory to medical treatments. Minimally invasive endoscopic surgery is usually very effective, especially in patients in whom the hands are the primary problem. This surgery is done collaboratively by a neurosurgeon and a thoracic surgeon.
