The Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus Center employs a unique collaboration of neurologists and neurosurgeons to diagnose and deliver the most appropriate care to those with normal pressure hydrocephalus. Diagnostic methods include a thorough neurological evaluation accompanied by cranial imaging techniques including, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and, when necessary, intracranial pressure monitoring. Screening techniques include lumbar cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) drainage with pre- and post-drainage neuropsychological testing. Formal gait testing is also used to critically assess the effect of CSF drainage.
