Emergency Medicine Residency Programs
The Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine offers Residency Programs in Emergency Medicine that are conducted at North Shore University Hospital (NSUH) in Manhasset, NY, Long Island Jewish Medical Center (LIJ) in New Hyde Park, NY, and Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH) in Staten Island, NY. Our three ACGME-accredited programs train 8 to 11 residents per year beginning at the PGY-1 level. In addition to these three emergency medicine residency programs, we have a six-year Emergency Medicine/Internal Medicine/Critical Care Residency Program and a Physician Assistant Residency Program at Long Island Jewish Medical Center.

We seek candidates who will work with enthusiasm and commitment. We would like each house officer to feel that the program is a better place to train because of their efforts. Our emergency medicine residency programs are dedicated to delivering state-of-the-art acute care in an environment that is clinically rigorous, academically stimulating and research intensive. Our residents are supervised by a dedicated full-time faculty of over 60 members who work in all subspecialties of Emergency Medicine.
