Huntington Hospital (2011), Forest Hills Hospital (2010), the Janet and John Raggio Nephrology Institute (North Shore University Hospital) (2008), LIJ Medical Center (2008) and the Dolan Family Center (Huntington Hospital) (2008) have received the IPRO Quality Award for outstanding performance.
|National Research Corporation (NRC) has recognized LIJ Medical Center, North Shore University Hospital and Staten Island University Hospital as 2010/2011 Consumer Choice Award winners for the nation's top hospitals (9th consecutive year).|
|The New York State Department of Health recognized North Shore University Hospital (NSUH) and LIJ Medical Center for their cardiac expertise, each earning a double-star ranking for success rates that are significantly better than statewide averages. NSUH was cited among the state’s best hospitals in outcomes for patients undergoing surgeries to repair or replace heart valves and for those in need of surgeries for both valve/coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. LIJ was cited as one of only two hospitals in the state with significantly better outcomes for angioplasty survival. In addition, NSUH has significantly better outcomes for patients undergoing emergency angioplasty.|
|Franklin Hospital was ranked by HealthGrades, an independent ratings organization, as the best hospital on Long Island for joint replacement outcomes as well as the best in Nassau County for its overall success in orthopedics and joint replacement. The hospital was ranked among the top 10 hospitals in New York State for joint replacement and among the top 10 percent in the United States. (2011)|
|Nine North Shore-LIJ hospitals – LIJ Medical Center and Forest Hills, Franklin, Glen Cove, Huntington, North Shore University (including Syosset Hospital), Plainview, Southside and Staten Island University Hospital received 68 overall quality awards and a total of more than $900,000 in financial incentives during the sixth and final year of the US Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ Hospital Quality Incentive Demonstration™. In this national pay-for-performance project, North Shore-LIJ surpassed all other health systems in terms of quality awards received and financial incentives earned (2011).|
