Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis - Long Term Outcome Study (01.08.030)

Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis - Long Term Outcome Study (01.08.030)

Long Term Outcome of Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis

Protocol ID:

Protocol Description

The purpose of this study is to determine the long-term outcomes of patients with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA). Outcome studies that were done years ago used different ways of diagnosing, classifying and treating patients than our used today. Consequently, it is difficult to apply the results of thoses studies to children diagnosed in the 1990's and beyond. This study will track what happens to children with JRA who are treated with currently available medicines. Certain inherited factors or genetics involved with the process of juvenile arthirtis will also be examined. These efforts may lead to a better understanding of why children get arthritis and eventually lead to improved treatment or management.
