Benign tumors are abnormal growths in your body that are not cancerous. Unlike malignant tumors that can sometimes spread or invade other parts of your body, benign tumors grow in only one place. However, they can be dangerous if they press on vital organs, such as the brain. Examples of benign tumors include uterine fibroid tumors, which are almost always benign tumors, and benign tumors found in the breast.
