Bone Fracture Injury, Symptoms and Causes
A fracture is a partial or complete break in the bone. When a fracture occurs, it is classified as either open (or compound, when the bone is exposed through the skin) or closed (or simple, when the skin is intact). Fracture symptoms may include pain, swelling, an obvious deformity, difficulty of use, and warmth, bruising, or redness in the injured area. Fractures occur when there is more force applied to the bone than the bone can absorb during falls, trauma or a direct blow or kick to the body.
