Uterine Cancer Symptoms and Causes
Uterine cancer is a cancer that originates in the cells lining the uterus. There are two main types of uterine cancer (also called endometrial cancer) adenocarcinoma and sarcoma. Adenocarcinoma accounts for more than 95% of uterine cancers. It develops from cells in the lining of the uterus, the endometrium. Sarcoma develops in the uterine muscle, the myometrium. Sarcoma accounts for only about 2% to 4% of uterine cancers. Other, less common types of uterine cancer include carcinosarcoma and endometrial stromal sarcoma.
