US News Ranks Top Long Island Hospitals

St. Francis Hospital was ranked as the top hospital on Long Island by U.S. News & World Report and the fourth best in the New York metropolitan area, followed by Long Island Jewish Medical Center and a tie between North Shore University Hospital and Winthrop-University Hospital.

New York-Presbyterian University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell ranked first in the New York metropolitan area, followed by NYU Langone Medical Center, Hackensack Medical Center and Mount Sinai Medical Center.

Catholic Health Services of Long Island’s St. Francis, in Roslyn, took top honors for Long Island, ranking fifth among the 179 hospitals in the New York metropolitan area.

CHS President and CEO Dr. Alan D. Guerci called recognition for St. Francis and other CHS hospitals that made the list a “tribute to the extraordinary caliber of professionals who provide health services at CHS.”

The North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System’s Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan ranked tenth in the New York metropolitan area, taking the top slot for the system’s facilities.

LIJ Medical Center in New Hyde Park ranked 11th followed by North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset and Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola tied for 16th.

Stony Brook University Hospital in Stony Brook ranked 21st in the metropolitan area, followed by Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip at 23 and Huntington Hospital at 25.
