With Potential Blizzard on the Way, North Shore-LIJ Delays Friday Opening of Many Outpatient Practices
January 2, 2014
In anticipation of the blizzard-like conditions forecast for part of its service area, the North Shore-LIJ Health System announced today it is delaying Friday’s opening of many of the health system’s approximately 400 outpatient facilities until at least 11 a.m. The health system is encouraging patients who are scheduled for an outpatient procedure or office visit to call their physician prior to traveling. North Shore-LIJ’s Monter Cancer Center in Lake Success, NY, which provides chemotherapy services, will be closed on Friday.
As always, North Shore-LIJ hospitals and emergency departments will remain open on their normal 24/7 operating schedule. Patients with scheduled ambulatory appointments for Friday, January 3, should call their individual practice/provider before heading out.
North Shore-LIJ employees who have questions regarding their schedule during the storm should speak with their managers.
The latest up-to-date information will also available through www.nslijalerts.com and the health system’s social media channels: www.facebook.com/northshorelij and www.twitter.com/northshorelij, throughout the duration of the storm.
