The Administrative Fellowship Program provides preparation in executive development for future healthcare leaders through a combination of departmental rotations, problem-solving projects and participation in managerial functions through various organizational and operational settings within the North Shore-LIJ Health System. This gives the fellows a valuable opportunity to gain practical operational experience and knowledge of the various aspects of healthcare, along with contact and interaction with all levels of administration throughout the health system under executive-level mentorship.
The Administrative Fellowship Program is a year long and consists of facility and departmental rotations, project management, one-on-one mentoring, staff interactions and attendance at various health system meetings and events. Each administrative fellow is assigned a member of the senior leadership team as a mentor/advisor for the duration of the fellowship.
Participants initially select a core curriculum and rotations based on their interests and discussion with their assigned mentor/advisor. The rotations revolve around the selected concentration, but expose the fellow to many areas within the health system and healthcare.
Fellows are assigned several projects that are based on their selected concentration and rotation locations. These projects enable the fellow to fully immerse themselves in working with departments and facilities.
