The Cardiology Fellowship Program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. The three-year cardiovascular disease fellowship program based at the campuses of North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center utilizes the clinical and research resources of the 15 hospitals that make up the entire health system. The Cardiology fellows are an integral part of the delivery of excellent patient care and, in addition to furthering their own education, they are a resource to staff, provide direct treatment and decision making, supervise tests and interpret clinical results. Fellows rotate through both institutions, completing each subspecialty at each campus. In addition, they have the opportunity to rotate at Huntington Hospital and Nassau University Medical Center.
There are currently 25 fellows in the cardiovascular disease fellowships elected through our participation in the Medical Specialties Matching Program (MSMP). It is a highly coveted training program with greater than 700 applicants per year. All applicants apply via ERAS. In addition, we have two interventional cardiology fellowship positions approved by the ACGME.Back to Top
