North Shore-LIJ Health System boasts 12 hospitals with well-staffed emergency departments, which are crucial pillars of support to their facilities.
All of our physicians are trained/certified in emergency medicine, while many are also trained in subspecialties including pediatric, critical care, ultrasound, sports medicine and international emergency medicine. They work closely with other emergency professionals including physician assistants, nurses, administration and EMS personnel.
We also have within our system Urgent Care Centers that are staffed with our emergency department physicians. Urgent care is a great alternative to receive medical attention for minor injuries and illnesses while still being able to be seen by an emergency medicine professional.
