The Rehabilitation Network of the North Shore-LIJ Health System is dedicated to providing you and your family with result-oriented, comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation services. Our goal is to maximize your independence, increase your function and improve your quality of life following an accident, injury or illness.
Our inpatient facilities, located throughout Long Island, Staten Island and Manhattan, offer warm and friendly environments with state-of-the-art equipment. Our dedicated professionals provide compassionate care that meets the highest levels of quality.
Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation — Acute rehabilitation is designed for individuals who need frequent physician monitoring, 24-hour nursing and intensive physical, occupational and/or speech therapy to maximize their recovery. The length of stay is based on your diagnosis, needs and progress during rehabilitation.
Our acute facilities include:
Glen Cove Hospital — Programs include a full array of services for neuroligic, medically complex and orthopaedic patients.
Southside Hospital — Features a NYS-designated adult brain injury program, and offers an array of services for other conditions.
Staten Island University Hospital - North Site Rehabilitation— Programs include a full array of services for pediatric and brain injury patients.
Inpatient Sub-Acute Rehabilitation — Sub-Acute rehabilitation is for patients who need a less intense, less medically-supervised rehabilitation environment. The sub-acute length of stay lasts until the patient is ready to return home or to a long-term setting. Sub-acute rehabilitation is often followed by home care or outpatient rehabilitation.
Our Stern and Orzac Centers have been awarded a five out of five star rating for overall quality by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. These places are both facilities in the top 10% of nursing facilities in the country.
