Diagnostic Polysomnography Treatment
Polysomnography — the gold standard for diagnosis of sleep disorders — involves the monitoring of both adult and pediatric patients through sleep center visits. You will be asked to visit our specially equipped sleep center, which involves an overnight stay that is monitored by our trained sleep specialists. Tests are performed to diagnose many different sleep disorders, including sleep apnea, parasomnias, RLS and insomnia.
While you or the patient sleeps, an EEG or EKG will be performed, and respirations, oxygen levels, muscle tone, and eye and extremity movements will be monitored. Audio and video recordings also monitor a night’s sleep for evaluation and diagnosis.
