Endovenous Laser Therapy (EVLT) Treatment
Endovenous laser therapy (EVLT) is a minimally invasive procedure used to repair varicose veins. Varicose veins are defects in the valve of a vein, which limits blood flow, causing veins to bulge. This defect can often be repaired through EVLT. This procedure delivers laser energy through a catheter under continuous ultrasound guidance. The laser therapy closes the defect in the valve of the vein and allows the blood to flow more freely. This approach is an outpatient procedure with minimal recovery and immediate results.
