Mediastinoscopy

Mediastinoscopy

Mediastinoscopy is a surgical procedure that allows doctors to view the middle of the chest cavity through very small incisions. It is also used to enable the removal of lymph nodes from between the lungs to test them for cancer or infection. Mediastinoscopy can also be used to examine the outside surface of the large tubes of the airways for evaluating tumor or masses in the middle of the chest.
