Thrombectomy Treatment

Thrombectomy is a vascular disease treatment that breaks up and removes blood clots using a small device threaded through blood vessels to reach the clots. Vascular surgeons perform this procedure using minimally invasive techniques with small incisions and little tissue damage.

The procedure involves inserting a catheter to the site of the clot, using x-ray guidance. Once the catheter is in place, it is used to break up the clot, extract it or dissolve it by injecting thrombolytic medication.
