Post Menopausal Hormonal Management
Due to concerns about the potential harmful effects of estrogen, a very high percentage of women no longer use hormone therapy after menopause. As a result of having the first generation of women without routine use of hormonal replacement, problems related to vaginal dryness, vaginal and vulvar pain and sexual dysfunction are becoming extremely common. There is an abundance of literature available which enables us to provide patients with dermatologic and post-menopausal care, both with hormones and without hormones, which can improve these symptoms. Given the age expectancy of women, greater activity levels into later years and a longer length of time that women desire sexual function, proper dermatologic care and hormonal care are essential.
