Gynecologic Malignancy

Gynecologic malignancies are cancers which involve the female reproductive system. They include:

• ovarian cancer
• endometrial cancer (cancer of the uterus)
• cervical cancer
• uterine cancer
• vaginal cancer
• vulvar cancer
• peritoneal cancer
• tubal cancer
   

The treatment of these diseases often involves a multi-specialty approach which includes chemotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery. North Shore-LIJ Women's Health Division of Gynecological Oncology offers surgical management of these diseases, in conjunction with radiation from the Department of Radiation Oncology and chemotherapy from the Monter Cancer Center.
