Social Work

Social work services are available to assist patients in a variety of ways.
Social workers provide:

• Psychosocial counseling to new mothers who are experiencing
  stressful situations before or after the birth of a child
• Psychosocial counseling for patients and families who have
  suffered a loss of a preganacy or newborn
• Guidance for families who are having financial problems
• Referrals to resources within the hospital, North Shore-LIJ
  Health System, and those based in the community

All of our social workers are licensed clinical social workers.
