Legislator Bosworth Invites Dr. Neeta Shah to Educate Constituents

Manhasset, NY

A group of over 60 constituents of Legislator Judi Bosworth walked away with an abundance of health information after they attended “It’s Your Time... Take Charge of Your Health" a women’s health program presented by Dr. Neeta Shah, vice president of women’s health services for the North Shore-LIJ Health System. The program, arranged by Legislator Bosworth and Dr. Shah, was held at the Manhasset Library as a free service to her district.

Legislator Bosworth said, “This seminar represents an ongoing commitment to bring information and services to the residents of Nassau County’s 10th Legislative District. After meeting with Dr. Shah and Legislator Judy Jacobs, I was excited at the prospect of Dr. Shah presenting at this forum. I was amazed at the scope of information that she was able to provide in a relatively short period of time and to do so in such a clear, candid and supportive manner. It is such a pleasure to work with Dr. Shah and members of the North Shore –LIJ Health System”.

The audience learned that women’s health encompasses her own health and that of her family. Dr. Shah, a Board Certified Internist, spoke about lifestyle modifications, tips to manage stress, wellness, prevention, nutrition and array of other medical topics. With a multitude of audience questions, the program which was scheduled for an hour and a half, continued until all questions were answered.

“With the establishment of the Katz Institute for Women’s Health, North Shore-LIJ is dedicated to educating our community’s women, facilitating the process to make better health care choices. The more we reach out to our neighbors with programs like this, the more they will feel empowered and take ownership of their health.”
