Suffolk Bar Association Women’s Health Symposium

“The Doctors Are In” Women’s Health Symposium presented by the North Shore LIJ Health System-Katz Women’s Hospital/Women’s Health Institute and co-sponsored by the Suffolk County Bar Association and Suffolk County Women’s Bar Association, was met with rave revues from the audience of Long Island business women. The program which included a panel of eminent physicians and practitioners was both educational and entertaining. These leaders in their fields of practice discussed the most recent findings in women’s health. Moderated by Neeta Shah, MD, FACP - VP Women’s Health Services, the topics discussed included Hypertension, presented by Joseph Diamond, MD, Director of Nuclear Cardiology - Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Diabetes presented by Marie Frazzita, MSN, FNP-C, NPP, CDE, Program Manager/Clinical Coordinator - North Shore Center for Diabetes in Pregnancy, UV Radiation and Skin Cancer presented by Jeffrey Ellis, MD, Director of Dermatological Surgery - North Shore University and Long Island Jewish Hospitals, Migraine Update 2009 presented by Noah Rosen, MD, Director of the Headache Center – Harvey Cushing Institute of Neoroscience and Aging Parents, Gisele Wolf-Klein, MD, Director of Geriatric Education - North Shore LIJ Health System.

“The goal of this program was to educate the community on disease prevention and present the most updated health care information available. Programs like this teach and empower women to make enlightened health care decisions for herself and her family. Our physicians want to reach out the community and educate.” explained Dr. Neeta Shah. After the panel discussion, the physicians were available to network and answer questions.
