North Shore-LIJ Joins Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy for Women’s Health Week Bill Signing

Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy signed Law 295-2009 during the week of May 10, establishing Women’s Health Week and Women’s Checkup Day for Suffolk County, annual events that will coincide with National Women’s Health Week. Initiated by the US Department of Health and Human Services Office on Women’s Health, Women’s Health Week was brought to the attention of the county executive by the North Shore-LIJ Health System’s Katz Women’s Hospital/Women’s Health Institute so that Suffolk officials could encourage women to take charge of their health through annual events celebrated in Suffolk County.
