Congenital kidney defects
Congenital kidney defects are present at birth. Along with congenital defects of the urinary tract anatomy, they represent approximately 30 percent of all malformations diagnosed prenatally. These conditions span from common anomalies to more severe malformations. Congenital anomalies are the leading cause of kidney failure, kidney transplantation or dialysis in young children and they can also lead to significant problems in adulthood.
