North Shore-LIJ Imaging at Glen Cove
North Shore-LIJ Imaging at Glen Cove provides a full range of diagnostic radiology services. Extensive imaging capabilities support multiple diagnostic goals, including primary diagnosis, the tracking of treatment process, pre-surgical testing and post-operative analysis.
Medical imaging plays a vital role in diagnosis and treatment as well as early detection and prevention. North Shore-LIJ Imaging uses state-of-the-art equipment coupled with the very latest advances in imaging techniques to ensure consistent, high quality images, expert analysis and uncompromised quality.
North Shore-LIJ Imaging provides access to the largest group of subspecialized, fellowship trained radiologists on Long Island. Through the North Shore-LIJ Imaging computer imaging system, images can be sent to consulting radiologists with the highest level of interpretive skills. The licensed, experienced staff is committed to exceptional clinical service and patient satisfaction. Images and reports are produced digitally for fast, efficient report retrieval and will be communicated to each patient's doctor with precision and timeliness.
North Shore-LIJ Imaging now offers the latest emerging technology in mammography – digital breast tomosynthesis (3D mammography). This new 3D technology allows the radiologist to examine breast tissue one layer at a time and thereby improves the radiologist’s ability to detect lesions and reduce false alarms due to overlapping tissue. The new 3D digital mammogram is acquired with a small increase in radiation dose. The radiation dose for the entire exam will still remain below federal standards for routine mammography.
North Shore-LIJ Imaging at Glen Cove accepts most major insurances and provides convenient, free parking. This facility is an extension clinic of Glen Cove Hospital.
