Department of Rheumatology
The Division of Rheumatology and Allergy-Clinical Immunology is the site of a number of different treatment centers.
The Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) and Autoimmune Disease Center
The SLE Treatment Center specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of SLE and related disorders. The clinical research program has gained international notoriety and continues to pioneer drug development for patients with SLE.
The Vasculitis and Myositis Center
This Center is devoted to the treatment of patients with various vasculitis syndromes as well as patients with inflammatory muscle disease. Clinical research is a key component of this Center’s efforts.
The Scleroderma and Raynaud’s Treatment Center
The Center offers comprehensive care to patients with scleroderma and related conditions. We work with a team of subspecialists who have expertise in treating scleroderma. This Center’s research program provides access to cutting-edge therapies.
The Arthritis Center
The Arthritis Center specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and research of the various arthritic diseases. The rheumatologists at the center coordinate a multidisciplinary plan of care for those afflicted with arthritis. Some patients may be eligible to participate in clinical trials that the Division of Rheumatology and Allergy-Clinical Immunology conducts.
The Gout Center
The Gout Center treats patients with gout or pseudo gout.
The Center for Infusional Therapy
Within the Division is a specialized unit that provides patients with state-of-the-art therapies that require intravenous administration. The staff is highly experienced in the preparation and administration of biologic therapies.
The Center for Performing Arts Medicine
This program specializes in assisting performers deal with afflictions arising from their professional or vocational involvement in the arts.
The Program in Novel Therapeutics
This program brings the latest drug developments to the community.
Patients who have not been responsive to conventional medical treatments or who desire state-of-the-art therapies are potentially eligible to participate in one of the numerous study protocols being conducted by Division members.
