Family therapy

Family therapy is a treatment that allows families, or individuals within a family, to learn how to resolve conflicts and interact with one another.

When members of a family have difficulty interacting with one another, family therapy might be helpful. Through psychotherapy that is usually provided by clinical social workers or licensed therapists, individuals within a family learn better ways to interact and resolve conflicts. Family therapy treatment can be effective after a divorce, a death in the family, or in other times of familial crisis, or for more general purposes.
