Long Island, NY – On Tuesday, September 10, the American Heart Association held its annual Heartsaver Awards Dinner at the Crest Hollow Country Club.  That evening, the American Heart Association had the privilege to present their Spectrum Award to the North Shore-LIJ Health System.
The Spectrum Award is presented to an individual or organization who has helped champion, strengthen and further the mission of the organization through the outreach to special target audiences.

The North Shore-LIJ Health System received the award for their continued support of the American Heart Association as the Cities Go Red Sponsor of the Go Red for Women movement.  Because of their involvement, they are saving women’s lives each and every day. This past year, Dr. Stacey Rosen and Dr. Jennifer Mieres coordinated an incredible Wear Red Day event which was video conferenced throughout the hospital system so all employees, dressed head to toe in red, could participate.  The day is an amazing and informative day educating all staff about heart disease.
Dr. Stacey Rosen accepted the award on behalf of the hospital system.

The American Heart Association is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary health organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke.
