Pediatric Neonatal and Perinatal Fellowship at Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York
Our fellows see a complete range of neonatal pathophysiology in volumes large enough to train in all the nuances of neonatal care. We have a 119 combined bed capacity in our Two Regional Perinatal Centers located 2 miles apart.
Our combined centers have a full range and depth of Pediatric Surgical and Medical Subspecialty Support. You have all the therapeutic resources (e.g. High Frequency Oscillator-Jets-Transport Ventilators, Brain Cooling, ECMO, Cardiovascular Surgery, Fetal Extra-uterine Intrapartum Therapy Procedure Teams, etc.) to take care of all newborns with extremely critical disorders.
We have a urban and suburban location with two Regional Perinatal Centers. Queens is the most diverse population in the United States. There are nearly 11, 000 annual deliveries at these medical centers with a robust neonatal and maternal fetal transport service.
The NS-LIJ Health System and affiliated hospitals have ~ 25,000 annual deliveries, about 1/10th of all babies born in New York State. The broad socioeconomic base gives a balanced spectrum of cultural exposures.
We have diverse opportunities for laboratory, clinical or educational research. This includes close affiliations with the investigators in the Feinstein Institute of Research, on campus. An active and flexible educational program includes talented and dedicated educators from within the system and invited regional and national experts. There are many opportunities for local, regional and national meeting attendance.
Lifestyles include a choice of suburban or urban living within the New York Metropolitan area. The attractions of beaches, culture, sporting events, and easy access to upstate New York and New England make us a great place to live.Back to Top
